Independent CPD accreditation · United States

Training is easy to sell. Competence is harder to prove.

We review courses, e-learning and events in health and safety, lifting, construction, food safety and other high-consequence fields, and accredit the ones that meet a published standard. We deliver no training of our own.

CPD hours

How we set CPD hours

CPD hours count active learning only: instruction, practical work and assessment, rounded down to the nearest half hour. Breaks, registration, networking and promotional content do not count.

For e-learning, hours come from the assessor's timed walkthrough checked against pilot learner times.

Accredited certificates state CPD hours. They never state IACET CEUs, OSHA approval or certification-body status.

What we can and cannot accredit

Some approvals belong to agencies and certification bodies. Our accreditation sits alongside them and never replaces them.

Sector spotlight · Lifting & Rigging

Lifting failures kill. The training has to work.

A rigging course should leave every learner able to estimate a load, choose and inspect gear, and rig safely. Passing a quiz is not enough. Our lifting assessors check content against OSHA 1926 Subpart CC and the ASME B30 series, and expect a practical element wherever the job is practical.

About

We check the training so everyone else can trust it

theCPD.net is an independent CPD accreditation body based in the United States. We review training against a published standard and accredit the activities that meet it.

We do not design, sell or deliver training, so we have no reason to approve anything that is not good enough. Certificates are everywhere; quality is not. Workers, employers and clients need a fast, honest way to know a course was well designed, taught by competent people and assessed fairly. That is what our mark stands for.

What we stand for

  • IndependenceNo training, no shared ownership with providers, no self-accreditation.
  • RigourEvery activity reviewed by someone who knows the subject.
  • TransparencyOur standard, process and directory are public.
  • FairnessThe same criteria for everyone, and an appeal route for every decision.

Governance

How decisions are made and challenged.

Who decides

Assessors recommend. A separate accreditation manager decides. Appeals go to a panel with no part in the original review.

Advisory panel

Practitioners from safety, lifting, food safety and adult education review the Standard each year and audit a sample of decisions.

Appeals

Providers may appeal within 30 days of a decision by writing to support@thecpd.net. Outcome within 30 days.

Complaints

Anyone may complain about a member, a certificate or theCPD.net itself. Acknowledged within 2 business days.

Contact

Talk to us about accreditation

Accreditation enquiries, fees, verification questions and reports all go to one address. We reply within two business days.

We publish no prices on this site. Fees are quoted per enquiry.

Common questions

Do you deliver training?

No. We only review and accredit training delivered by others.

How much does accreditation cost?

Fees depend on the route and the number of activities. Email support@thecpd.net for a quote.

How long does a review take?

Typically four to six weeks from a complete submission.

Do you award CEUs?

No. We award CPD hours. IACET CEUs can only be issued by IACET Accredited Providers.

Do you accept members outside the United States?

Yes. Content must reflect the rules where the learners work, and our assessors check that.

Will my professional body accept your CPD hours?

Each body decides. Most accept documented, structured learning. Check with yours before you enrol.

What if my course is not approved?

You receive a written report. You can revise and resubmit, or appeal within 30 days.
